Address Errors
If you see a red error message about an error, like so:
This means the order address is NOT valid for Australia Post. (Australia Post checks all Delivery addresses for valid postcode and suburb as found here: https://auspost.com.au/postcode) Address validation errors can also occur during system outages on external carriers like Australia Post, which may prevent validation temporarily.
Even if the address *looks* like it might be correct, the customer may have entered the suburb or postcode in the wrong field.
Click on the address in the order, and click the Edit icon as detailed below to fix the issue
Editing an Order Address
You can edit an order address by clicking on the address. This will expand the address and display editable fields. Note if you are using the Dense View of the Dashboard you'll need to click the address to expand the order first and then click the address to edit it.
Click "Save" to save the address.
Common Errors
Australia Post system validate each order address (Suburb/City and postcode). Customers will enter their address in online stores as they know it, but there are a few instances where the 'official' address does not match what is entered. Examples of common formatting errors include adding trailing commas (e.g., entering "Denmark," instead of "Denmark") or using abbreviations such as "MT PLEASANT" instead of "MOUNT PLEASANT."
If you receive a suburb/postcode error, always first check the postcode and suburb combination with Australia Post here: https://auspost.com.au/postcode Additionally, monitor the Australia Post system status page to check for any outages or disruptions that may affect address validations.
Important : Australia Post maintains suburb and city databases for the country, not Google. Just because Google has an address listed with a particular suburb does not guarantee it is correct!
Note: If you have already created a label you will need to cancel it and create a new one after making changes to the address.
