International Postage Optional Settings
The following options are those currently available. More information may be available on the Australia Post MyPost Business web site at https://auspost.com.au/mypost-business/dashboard#/support
Please note that some options are not available on all international services and may result in an error if they are enabled on services where it is not a feature. If that occurs you can change the setting on the options for that specific order.
International Sender Digital Signature
By entering the name of the person that would normally sign Customs Declarations here the field on the label will be automatically signed.
Require Signature on Delivery
If set to "Required" the recipient of the parcel will need to sign for delivery. If the recipient is not available a card will be left at the premises to advise the recipient to collect the parcel from a local post office.
Note, Signature Required is not available in MyPost Business Economy services.
If set to "Not Required" and the recipient is unavailable the parcel will be left in a safe place at the premises. If no safe place is available a card will be left at the premises to advise the recipient to collect the parcel from a local post office
Goods Description
By default product titles are used on Customs Declarations. You can override the use of product titles by providing a Goods Description. If used you must ensure that this description is sufficient for Customs to identify the contents of the package and does not misrepresent the goods.
Email Tracking Notifications
This option determines whether tracking notifications are emailed to the recipient.
Note: Not available on all international services.
SMS Tracking Notifications
With SMS tracking enabled you will receive an SMS notification when your parcel's:
Are Sent overseas by Australia Post
Have Arrived in the destination country
Delivered
A valid Australian mobile phone number must be supplied on the Preferences -> Sender Address page.
Note: Not available on all international services.
Classification Type
This identifies the reason for the shipment in the Customs Declaration. Except in rare circumstances this will usually be "Sale of Goods".
Reason for export
If the "Classification Type" above is set to "Other" you need to specify the reason for the export. This option is rarely required.
Extra Cover
For more information about Australia Post's Extra Cover see their guide at https://auspost.com.au/sending/send-overseas/features-extras-international
Non Delivery Action
This option determines what action is taken if an international consignment is unable to be delivered. If you want the goods returned to you (note Australia Post charges may apply to returns) select "Return". For low value items where the cost of returning the consignment may exceed the value of the goods you can choose "Abandoned" which means the order will be destroyed.
