Australia Post: Using Sender Pays (Zonos® Verified Account)

Creating Australia Post international shipments using the Sender Pays (Zonos® Verified Account) option

Written by Meegan

A Zonos® Verified Account linked to your AusPost MyPost Business and/or eParcel Contract account allows Zonos® to calculate, collect and remit import duties, taxes and service fees (landed costs) on your behalf for supported international destinations.

From 1 July 2026, this service is available for shipments to:

  • United States (compulsory mandated option)

  • Canada

  • United Kingdom

Already have a Zonos® Verified Account?

If you've already created a Zonos® Verified Account for shipping to the United States, you can use the same verified account for shipments to:

  • Canada

  • United Kingdom

To use your Zonos® Verified Account for these destinations when creating labels in SellerDash, enter ZONOS in the Tax ID field on the International Options tab of your Preferences page.

Note: The United States does not have a Tax ID field because Sender Pays (Zonos® Verified Account) is automatically used for all US shipments.

Importer Reference Number

When you create a shipment in SellerDash using Sender Pays (Zonos® Verified Account), the Importer Reference Number OR Customs Reference field is automatically populated.

For countries other than the US, you must enter the word ZONOS in the Tax ID field in the International Options tab of your Preferences page.

Don't have a Zonos® Verified Account?

You can create a Zonos® Verified Account free of charge by registering directly with Zonos®.

Once your account has been verified, link your Australia Post account in Zonos.

Note: After linking your account, wait at least 1 hour before creating your first shipment to allow Australia Post systems time to update.

⚠️ Important information

  • A valid Zonos® Verified Account is required to use the Sender Pays (Zonos® Verified Account) option
