Important US Tariff and Customs Changes from 22 October 2026

New US customs requirements may affect your international shipments. Find out what's changing and how to prepare.

Written by Meegan

From 22 October 2026, the United States will introduce additional customs clearance requirements for certain goods entering the country.

These changes affect products regulated by US government agencies, as well as goods subject to additional tariffs and duties.

According to Zonos, approximately 40–50% of global shipments may be affected.

If you ship to the US using SellerDash and Australia Post, you may need to provide additional product information or supporting documentation through your Zonos Verified Account.

Failure to provide the required information could result in customs delays or parcels being returned to sender.

What do you need to do?

Zonos has introduced new tools to help merchants identify which products require additional customs information. These tools are available within your existing Zonos Verified Account at no additional cost.

  1. Log in to your Zonos Dashboard and navigate to the Catalog section.

  2. Upload your Shopify product catalogue using a CSV file, ensuring the product details match those used in your SellerDash orders.

  3. Review any products flagged by Zonos and provide the additional information requested.

  4. Upload supporting documentation where required.

Once saved, this information can be reused by Zonos for future US shipments, provided your products are correctly matched.

Does anything change in SellerDash?

No changes are required in SellerDash.

You can continue importing orders and creating your Australia Post shipping labels as normal.

Any additional customs information requested by Zonos must be provided directly through your Zonos Verified Account.

We recommend reviewing your product catalogue in Zonos before 22 October to help avoid potential shipping delays.
